Sasha Alexander Kaurov

Interdisciplinary researcher

👋 Hi! I'm an astrophysicist turned interdisciplinary researcher focused on various aspects of science communication. Here's what I do:🌎 I explore how AI can be used to communicate scientific concepts, more specifically related to climate change, in collaboration with Professor Naomi Oreskes in the Department of the History of Science at Harvard University.💙 As a co-founder of Earthlings Hub under the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, I help organize STEM programming for children affected by wars.🤖 I lead Didactic.AI, a research-focused nonprofit initiative committed to discovering impactful applications of AI and other computational methods to enhance human interaction with knowledge, with a particular emphasis on children.🕹 I also founded OmniScope, which developed science communication techniques utilizing novel media, including immersive theater. Currently, this project is on hiatus.🪐 In 2016, I received a PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the University of Chicago and for a while was a postdoc at the Institute for Advanced Study, writing papers about cosmology, the early universe, gravitational lensing, neutron stars, large scale structure, and other topics.📄 My academic publications.
